CNPC begins pipelaying operations

On 12 August, China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) stated that it has begun laying a fourth gas pipeline between Shaanxi and Beijing.

The 1114 km natural gas pipeline is set to increase supply to China’s northeast area, a well as reduce the amount of air pollution within the cities.

The pipeline is able to hold an annual capacity of 25 billion m3; the other three Shaanxi-Beijing pipelines have a total capacity of 35 billion m3.

CNPC has stated that the line is scheduled to be in full operation before October 2017.
